About me
I'm Esther Albert, an independent software developer. For more than 25 years I've been helping businesses build, maintain and improve the software they rely on.
An independent developer, not an agency
AWebForYou is the name I've worked under since 2000. It isn't a large company with a sales team and account managers. When you contact AWebForYou, you're talking to me, and I'm the one who reads your code, works with your database and makes the changes.
Over the years my work has grown from websites into business systems. Today I design and build new applications from scratch, from the requirements and database design through to deployment, and I look after software that companies already depend on every day. I still build websites and online stores for clients who need them, but most of my time goes into the systems behind them.
New projects and long-term relationships
I enjoy taking a new application from an idea to a working system, and I'm equally happy to take on a small fix or an ongoing support arrangement. Much of my work comes from long-term clients and their referrals. Some businesses have relied on me for many years to build what they need next, keep their systems running and fix things when they go wrong. I value that continuity, and I think my clients do too.
How I work
- Practical problem-solving. I like finding out why something isn't working, whether that's a slow query, an intermittent error or data that doesn't add up, and fixing the actual cause.
- Reliability. Live business systems need careful changes, tested before they go live, and a developer who is there when something needs attention.
- Clear communication. I explain what I've found and what I recommend in plain language, and I'm honest when something isn't worth doing.
- Understanding the business first. Whether I'm designing something new or changing an existing system, I learn how the business and its data work before writing code.

I work with older and newer technologies, which is useful when a business has some of each:
- SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, database design, optimization and reporting
- Classic ASP, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and jQuery
- C#, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs and Azure Functions
- React and modern web application development
Where I work
I'm based in Beitar Illit, Israel, and work remotely with clients in Israel, the United States and elsewhere. I work in English and Hebrew.
